As other reviewers have pointed out, the merchandise they got differed from the picture or description. Amazon has binding rules requiring sellers to send exactly what's described and pictured, so it should go without saying what's expected, and in this case, the manufacturer is listed as a specific vendor. I purchased the product from that vendor, which in theory is what all other sellers should have done originally. This is not listed as a generic item. The drive was thought to have failed, and the folks at the Apple Genius Bar suggested I try buying an enclosure before spending hundreds of dollars on data recovery. So I ordered this enclosure. The drive fits inside it perfectly. I connected it to my laptop with only one of the 2 USB connectors and it powered up as well as mounted! So I was able recover all my data on my own at almost no cost.
